Bonnie Owen started her career as an illustrator working on educational materials used in public schools. A lifelong student of art, Bonnie studied at UCSD, and the University of Hawaii.

Having always lived near the sea, swimming, sailing, fishing (and mermaid legends), have always been a big part of her life. Ocean themes and sea creatures are often featured in her work.

Currently her media of choice is acrylic on canvas and her style is a painterly realism. Her work as an illustrator has been featured in books, magazines and on the internet. Her paintings are in collections nationwide.
