Gentle Waves is an ocean drum which, when moved from side to side, makes the sound of waves as they flow over the sand. Two wet felted pieces are joined over a basket structure, using merino wool fiber and silk hankies, embellished with thread and shells. The waves radiate out from a central focus point and cascade over the edges. The sound is meditative and soothing. This piece can be hung or placed on a stand. It is meant to be handled and moved to produce the sound of the waves.
